These two lovers, young and unsure.
Only quick glances in rushed moments.
Not a single word
is spoken.
But the minute distance comes between them,
they are tied.
Two hearts connected by invisible wire
A signal halfway across the city,
keeping them on the same plane.
A love connection,
that in reality is so
disconnected.
And this is what you expect me
to call a relationship?
This new generation, to only know silence?
How do you expect me to tell you
how I feel
in one hundred and fifty characters?
How can you expect me to tell you,
that the way you look at me,
is the most uplifting part of my day.
That you are my other half.
And you’re so quick to reply,
with three letters;
I.. L… Y..
You couldn’t have taken the time to at least
write out those three words?
I want to hear you.
Just to hear you tell me you love me.
To hear the words slip from your mouth,
your voice as smooth as velvet
and full of  passion.
But me?
I’m left to use my imagination.
As you hide behind your cell phone,
I will always wait for your call.
